In Maximum Ride: The Manga,Vol.1, fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride(AKA: Max) and all the members of the flock, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman(Gazzy) and Angel are just like ordinary kids, except they have wings and can fly. It may seem like heaven, but their lives can turn into a living nightmare at any time. Especially now when they escaped from the school. like when Angel, the youngest member of the flock, is kidnapped by Ari(son of Jeb)& the Erasers(half-human, half-wolf) and taken back to the School where she and the others were experimented on by a crew of scientists. Max and her hybrid friends brave a journey to Death Valley, C.A., to save Angel, but soon enough, they find themselves in another nightmare. this one involving fighting off the "Erasers" in New York City. Whether in the trees of Central Park or fancy restaraunts, Max and her fellow family take the ride(maximum RIDE.....see what I did there!) of their lives. The flock also found out that they had real parents, and weren't test tube babies as they assumed! Along the way Max discovers from her old friend and father Jeb, now her betrayed and greatest enemy, that her purpose is save the world.........but can she?
